CHARIS Foundation has partnered with U! Happy Events to celebrate CHARIS President Chris Tiu’s birthday with the kids of Tuklasan Center in San Juan on July 19, 2014. The two-hour event consisted of fun games, zumba session, gift-giving, and a football clinic which was conducted by CHARIS volunteers.

The event was its outreach program conducted, in partnership with Pharex Health Corp, in Nueve de Pebrero Elementary School in Mandaluyong.

CHARIS, as part of its social outreach and youth development project, launches this December the Make A Child Smile (MACS) project for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

The Make A Child Smile project in Tolosa, Leyte was featured in one Rappler article. The article was written by MACS volunteer Mark Anthony S. Goroy who narrated his experience on conducting MACS and his time playing football on the beach with some Tolosa children who happen to be beneficiaries of the MACS project also (MACS Inaanaks).

CHARIS Foundation successfully held the first ever Make A Child Smile project gift-giving activity in Tolosa (a 5th-class town 25 kms south of Tacloban City, Leyte).

The Make A Child Smile (MACS) Project was mentioned in a Yahoo! PH article when Chris Tiu was interviewed by the Philippine group of the internet corporation. The interview-article was headlined: Why Chris Tiu is more perfect than you think. It was posted by author Rio Rose Ribaya and published December 10, 2013.

The Make A Child Smile (MACS) Project started its first set of letter-writing session with the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital site on December  6, 2013.
